befor i'd consider getting them or anything else, i'd find out EXACTLY what "who knows what is"
did they just disappear, or did they die, or did you find mutilated bodies?
that would be my primary concern, befor buying anything

well i posted a different notice and no one answered... i found a body under one of my rocks.. AND it's been liveing in there for at least 2 1/2 months anyway the only fish i had in there were:
1 outocincus (mystery death also)(died next day)
1 algea eater
4 tetras
1 betta
4 ghost shrimp
1 Banana snail
1 Panda cory catfish
Yep that's about it..
but i don't know why it died

Do you test your water? If so, what are your test results?
If something died suddenly, and you aren't sure why- it could be your water quality.
I just looked back at your other fish-- this is a freshwater tank? Not real up on testing water for freshwater, but you should at least be testing for ammonia and nitrites- ph and nitrates would not be a bad idea either- who knwos what killed your existing fish- don't want to kill new ones if you get them. I did some searching as well-- every place that sells these fish say "NOT FOR SALE" or "SOLD OUT" Guess these are hard to find...

Sorry- walked a way and hit send after you had posted....
Cool looking fish by the way- also called a hillstream loach- but could not find any for sale under that name either.

no couldn't find them anywhere but they are awesome cleaners!
i decided not to get anymore cause i'm going to change my ten gallon to a mini reef tank!
o well but my dad wants so if you find any research or info on them i would like to know!
THANX A LOT!

Ahhhhhhhh unless there are salt water species of bettas and tetras that I haven't heard about (certainly possible since I'm new to the SW side :D ) you are talking about a FW tank, right? If so, you didn't happen to find the fish you are look to replace accidently on the SW row of tanks in your LFS did you???

something is fishy here
LOL
all does sound like a fw aquarium, and this is a saltwater board, but funn isn't it, all of us must love fish becasuse we are all checking in to help
anyhow, if one disappeared, mysteriously, i'd look all around the aquarium stand, he may have jumped out, but the other one, ????,
as for your water parameters, they are your test results, have your local fish store run some tests on your tank water, there could be a problem there, othe than that, i really don;t know enough to help you much, unless your filter and airation aren't workin properly

i don't want to be mean or anything(to most of you)... anyway, i just found out that
when i was clearing out my FREASH WATER tank
to change it to a SALT WATER tank, some of you don't seem to under stand! that i asked: (noticing i'm a BLUE STARFISH) IF i could change my FREASH WATER tank to a SALT WATER tank!!!  Gosh some of you don't seem to under stand... :( :(

What language is this guy speaking? I reread this post again and he still isn't making any sense!
Count me in as one who doesn't understand.

i dunno about that fish thing going on there but its possible they can just decide to switch one day but then once decided they need to start reserching.

they could be running a brackish water tank. I am converting a few of the brackish water puffers to be able to live in a saltwater. it does take a few months to do, but after that they have no problems. (just a thought)

how would you know (directed to mr.tang)if i have salt and freash in the same tank?? i didn't say i did!!!!
if youve noticed i do have more then one tank!!
