HMMM....how long did you let the salt mix for? That's about the only thing I could think of it could be if you don't have sand
ORRRR...did you just pour it in and stir up all the waste that was laying on rocks?

Ah, that's what I was thinking. Detritus and sand particles can accumulate on rocks and by pouring water in, that can happen. Just like a sand storm.

the particulate is super fine almost non existent. could be from the salt mix. mixed it for an hour.
It is recommend to mix it at least 4 hours, but honestly I wouldn't think that that would do it.

It is best to mix salt for 24 hours with a powerhead.....I would have to guess it was not all dissolved

Not sure what my hubby did but he got it cleared up!!! think that he did something to it, saw him over at the tank messing with it cleaning something, i really wasnt paying too much attention. but whatever he did, it is looking very nice and pretty once again!!!!
I would ask him what he did, but he is in bed now.
i took these pics just a few minutes ago to show how it looks now. very nice and crisp!

also took a picture of the salt mix that we used. we had never used it before. thinking that maybe becuase we had never used this kind before was the reason? who knows. all i know is that whatever he did earlier it worked!!! ill have him post what he did tomorrow.
thank you all for the help!!! even if you dont think that you helped you did!!!

If your CA was high you could have caused to participate out of the solution by adding more calcium and increasing the ph too suddendly, I have a feeling that this is the situation. You need to check your calcium levels. Hope this helps. CJordan
