I still think you need crabs, snails don't get the algae off of your rockwork like crabs do.

I have a thought and might as well run it by you guys in this thread. I'm thinking about doing away with hermits as well (maybe just a few mexican reef hermits, they're small and peaceful and cost nothing).
What if I do some emeralds and snails and maybe a SLF?

IMO big negative on the SLF
I have a SLF trouble thread in the NH forum
I know meowzer loves em though

If I have any crabs it will be hermits as they (at least starting out) are too small to kill fish..... I've read somewhere on here about someone having trouble with emeralds... may have been my SLF thread

I'm not too keen on the SLF idea, I've heard many issues and I got bit by one a while back, just wanted some other thoughts. I also not the hugest fan of Emeralds, but I have one in my 14G that hasn't been an issue thus far.
Maybe I'll just stick with the mexican reef hermits.

yeah Im not sure what if any crabs to get....
seems like you wont be sorry with snails but with crabs it seems to be a toss up
