well little at a time you can add just plain water. You need to remb that when your tank is sitting there it only avorprates water not the salt. so if you are addign salt water all the time thats what maiking it go really high like that

Try 5 gallons every other day. A Specific Gravity of 1.030 isn't all that high so there's no need to panic.
That fish list looks great for a 55 but be sure to add the fish over time, not all at once.

Salt doesn't evaporate.

Because the salt doesn't evaporate and is left there when the water evaporates.

so i dont mean to jump and steal this, just have a question....so if salt does not evaporate....if someone adds saltwater to top off, the salt rises continually....so how would be the smartest way to add water??

If your salinity is perfect, you top off the evaporated water with regular RO or RO/DI water minus the salt. If you need to add salt (such as losing salt due to water changes, which is where one would commonly lose salt) then you mix up the salt and add it for topping off.
I use 5 gallon water bottles that come from a water bottling company. Some are labeled salted water, some are not.
The ones that I add salt to, are for when I need to add salt to my tanks, the others just have RO water in it for top offs.
