I would first compare the results to another test kit to verify the results.
Then mix up some salt water and test it before you add it to your tank.
If both of those are good then continue with the water changes.

Welcome to boards!
A few questions: Is this tank still cycling? Do you have live inhabitants?
If you are still cycling, are you testing for ammonia, nitrites? and what are they?
Also, are you sure you are testing right? Is this test kit for saltwater?? I would get another kit, or find someone else to double check. Not saying it's impossible, but never heard of alk. that high. My opinion would be a faulty test result.

Just leave it alone the alk will drop on its own. I dosed buffer for alk instead of buffer for PH once and my alk went off the scale, that was the advice I was given. I marked my buffers with black magic marker after that, the contianers were exactly the same.
It won't hurt anything to be very high. I was told salt creep could become a problem from too high alk.

the amonia is 0 and the nitrates are 0 the rock has been established for 2 years i got it from a buddy. im using a quick dip stick and it showed that the ro water was fine but when i check in the tank its off the chart. it could be the test but i dont see how the plain ro and the tank would have that big of a difference. i have done two water changes both total about 36g and i have a 70g tank.

Now I'm wondering if there could be something wrong with your salt mix.
Have you tried testing mixed water before you put it in tank?? Sounds like a long shot, but maybe someone was drunk at the factory, when they made the salt.
