I know I think $70 is crazy. I'm thinking about getting one online. I'm just alittle nervous about ordering online.

Dont be nervous about ordering online. I do it ALL THE TIME, especially from the site run by two doctors. They're are always willing to give u a refund or to exchange the item for another item or for the same item. I have never had a problem with them. However, although the hippo tangs are covered under the guarantee, the reason why many of them die is because during shipping when hippos ONLY get stressed, they shove their noses into the corner of the bag suffocating themselves. I learned this from an old LFS. The lady who worked there grew up in the Solomon Islands and she worked for a wholesaler there and they taught her a trick for keeping them alive throughout shipping. You tape the corners of the bag up, so they cant suffocate themselves. However, many web sites do not recognize this, and therefore MANY die on their way to your home.

Hi Spacegeek,
I feel your excitment and your pride. Tons and tons of work to do a switch like that.
I don't want to be the one to rain on the parade, but in the pics of your montipora and acripora...isn't that some pretty obvious bubble algea? I really don't know a whole lot about this problem algea, except that it's a nuisance. Do you have some emerald crabs to help with that?

Thanks MonaLisa!! Yes, I am aware of the bubble algae and I have 3 emerald crabs. The corals are new, and I saw the bubble algae on there, but it doesnt really bother me, and I have emerald crabs to clean it up. That particular LFS has a bad bubble algae problem, but the corals were only 12 bucks each. NOT GONNA PASS THAT UP!

Awesome...again congrats on the hard work. I hope your little emies take care of business. The only reason I brought it up was because I was just in a LFS today that I'd never been to and many of their tanks were covered with bubble algea. I've personally never seen that stuff in person...weird stuff.
At 12 bucks ea for corals...yeah, I'd probably take the chance...??? Good luck to you with your new additions!!!
