well it wasnt a great year for sap tappers up here there was too much snow to get at half the trees for the best part of the season.
BUT I STILL GOT SOME

gotta say real home made syrup will always be better than that high fructose corn syrup based crap at the grocery store.
just had to gloat a bit.

MY inlaws have a summer home up in maine. Cant remember the name of the town but there is a shoe factory in the town.
They have a pretty big house on the lake there.

Yeah we try and go at least once a year in the summer. We usually stay at the bay view, its a couple of minutes from acadia. We like hiking in the park.
Always stop at the brewing company and get us some SOB and blueberry ale, love those beers, moose breath is good too. Me and my wife will go and play a few rounds down at kebo and or take the cat ferry over to nova scotia.
Love to eat at geddys or down east lobster bake, thats my favorite. Nothing like watching my lobsters getting cooked right in front of me.
Then we Finnish it up with the lobster hatchery tour and a cooler full of lusty lobsters.
Are they still doing construction by the park? What’s that Rt3 or something.
I told my wife one of these days i'm gonna stop at a LFS in main just to see the diffrence.
Have not found one yet, but when i go i always look. That always gets me hit with the follow up keep your eyes on the road, lol

The county I live in had a bumper crop of Maple Syrup this year. It's expected to be almost 50,000 gallons. That's more than the population count
It's also almost 20% of all the maple from the entire state.

my bio teacher always makes maple syrup. she gives it to my begining foods class and since we have it first period, we always make waffles or pancakes. it is so much better than store bought. besides skiing, maple syrup is the only good thing about living this far north.

nearest LFS is straight up route 3 into ellsworth called maine pet and aquariums in the mini mall shortly after home depot on the left coming out of bar harbor.
maybe 30minutes depending on tourist traffic. nice displays WAYYY over priced.
there is a second one called crystal clear further up the same road but his tanks are disease vectors with 4F quality half dead fish.

Hhmmm never saw it or found it? In fact that name don't even ring a bell when i asked the locals about a LFS.
All right, well that saves me the trouble of searching for any lfs when we go up.
i'll guess ill just stick to getting the gout from stuffing my face with lobster and corn and beer.

I might take you up on that offer. Nice way to go and see the state and meet people too. I Just hope we can go this year. The prices are outrages. Nj has one of the lowest gas prices around 3.75 a gallon and even that is a killer in SUV’s. We were in Delaware and the prices for gas were in the high 4 dollar mark almost 5, I almost vomited when I filled my santa fe up.
Awesome website nice pics of tanks and store, now if we go i can book a spa day for the wife and beat feet up to the store.
