horizontal whitle line on my new yellow tang

I just bought a yellow tang and I have him in a 10 gallon QT tank with a small maxijet and a piece of LR. Im pretty sure he was completley yellow when I bought him and when I put him in the tank but when I returned home last night he now has a thick white line that runs horizontal from right behind his gills to about 3/4 the length of the rest of his body.
Is this normal? just stressed because of new surroundings.
I odered him through my local saltwater guy and he was stuck in his bag for twice as long as he should have been due to shipping problems in seattle. but he looked real good in the LFS tank.

not sure without a pic but sounds to me like the beginning of hille or halle not sure the spelling. Its from stress but mainly malnutrition. Just keep him in the qt and feed alge sheets and frozen food dosed with garlic to intise him to eat. Also check out the sickness and treatment forum on here and am sure they have stuff on it. Good luck halle will kill the tang but a little tlc from you and he should make a full recovery

Go to the disease section and look at pictures of HLLE....
Although I am not so sure it would appear that fast.....
do you happen to have a picture?

the attachment is NOT my fish. but i went to the disease area and looked up hlle. my fish has perfect coleration everywhere except this white line. in the disease area you can see the white line in ALOT of thier pictures for all sorts of diseases. the picture posted is for Lymphocyctis which are the white spots. im just posting so that you can see the line. mine looks just like that except without the yucky Lymphocyctis spots

OK...are you talking the white line in the center of the fish???
Look up yellow tang on this site.....they all have that....coloration varies though

well, out of all of those pics only one has a line as white as mine. however, i just went to try and take my own picture adn the line is allready more yellow than it was this morning. must be a lighting or jsut general comfort thing.
