Thank you so much for getting involved and finding this boy a new home. :cheer: I'll be sure to update the post on Danes Online to share the great news!!
Thank you Michelle, but we aren't in the clear yet! Besides, most of my friends consider me insane as it is :notsure:

Boy, that just gets me !-#$%^&*! Getting an animal isn't cheap, like having kids.
They can't just fix him? So many shelters offer half price & it mellows him on the table!!!
I picked up a male husky that was abused. Broken nose. He was 28# and about the size of my female, she is 54#! It took me a month to get his weight & health perfect. A fantastic 48#. I saw him for the first time & he was eating cigarette butts and dirt. VERY excitable to see & get behind the females. I took him to the vets & home & he was happy, just not excitable. I nicknamed him loverboy!
I love to remeber him. I put him down in May. Blood lose. Stupid vet did nothing. Rushed him to the emergency vet 2 days later & well...... I was hysterical!! Cry everytime I se pics

Don't rush to find him a home. He needs the attention. Be careful of Sebastian. Huskies have wolf tendencies. He IS Alpha male. If threatened he will take the poor baby out. At least down. But I am sure he'll get hurt in the process. Huskies also mark people as "THEIRS" Annelise sits on my feet & gets antsy when anything gets near me. Tries to keep them from me. Lexi marked my husband. She will get snippy if the other animals get near. Keep the new pup from Sabastians' favorite person & all will be safe. Keep from putting water, food and toys in the backyard. Keep it neutral.

We already try to keep everyone on equal ground, they all get a treat each or none at all, they don't fight over toys. For now he's staying in the garage, on a king sized mattress

He doesn't like it, he wants to be right by my side, but it isn't fair to the others to lock them up to keep them from fighting.
Michelle keep plugging Zeus on the Dane boards. I spent an hour and a half at Petsmart waiting for the obedience trainer to come in... he is a Dane person, thought maybe he would know some groups. He didn't come in tonight. Go figure. Oh well, got the word out to a lot of interested people, who all had the same answer, "I can't"
Tried to put Zeus on Petfinder.com, wouldn't upload. Every other dog it had no problem. Tried Zeus, wouldn't take, did another dog, worked, tried Zeus again, didn't work.... Fate? Made me so mad.

Sebastian isn't so protective of his momma as he is just not happy to invite a great big dog into the house. He's never had any issues with any other dog we brought home. Of course they were all puppies... Zeus on the other hand, he is all about me, and Sebastian yodelled in my face for a treat yesterday, Zeus was right there, lightning fast, telling him to back off from me. He has bonded to me, so it makes it even harder to find him a home because now it's just another loss for him. He whines sometimes even when I'm right beside him and I think he really just misses his owner. I also think he is so skinny because he misses his owner. My friend Monica's bulldog did the same thing when his companion dog passed away. After a couple of months he gained it back, but he wouldn't hardly eat for weeks.
This is so freakin tough. The girlfriend isn't happy with me. The dogs are confused and on the defensive. I feel like it's me against the world.

I applaud you!! We appreciate your efforts and so does Zeus!! None of us want to imagine where Zeus would be without your intervention. Try asking people to "Foster" him until his finds a preminent home. Contact vets in the neighborhood to post signs and a picture of him. They love helping animals find a good home!!!
Remember I deal w/ this daily, too. Just I use my home & personal funds to give the best to the unfortunates!

Zeus found a great home yesterday with an independantly wealthy music promoter from Weatherford. He has 2 Border Collies as well, and they all have kennels in the master bedroom with their master, and Zeus will too. They love him and think he's absolutely amazing. They own a car lot and he gets to go to work with them everyday. They said they have to buy a new couch for the customers because the one they have is his now haha. They are very pleased and even better so, impressed with his obedience and overall personality. They also have a lot of land, so I know he'll be treated great, provided excellent vet care, and have plenty of space to play with his new buddies.
I know the guy too, so I can go visit some time if I get the chance.
and
all at the same time. I miss him a lot.

I like this thread. The horse is neat, but Texasmetal the info you posted is even more interesting. I had no idea about a lot of stuff you wrote and now I am glad that I am "aware". As far as your "opinions", I completely agree with all of them. I hope you get to the full time position and I hope you can change the system and not let it change you. I'll show you guys a pic of the "horses" in my house.
These are resues that I had "aquired" about two months ago. They are very ugly, but I love them both already!- Great with my kids and since I live in the ghetto, my house is the only one that hasn't been broken into. I don't really live in the ghetto, but an unwanted family moved in nearby recently and every house on my street has been burgerized in the last month. The van got gone, but the house is still OK.
The small dog, we've hadfor 4 years but the big ones are our rescues...

Ain't they just the ugliest things??!! The male, Jake (with the cropped ears) was to thin when we got him that you could see just about every bone in his body!!
They are siblings so they came as a pair.

My girlfriend would kill for a white Boxer. Boxers have great personalities. I personally prefer brindle coloration, but I did get some friends to adopt a white Boxer pup from the shelter. Roxeanne. She was precious.
After a few months of good meals and some TLC they'll look better.

Yeah, they are great!! I did a lot of research before getting them since I have 3 kids, and they were perfect! Jake however came in with a freshly broken leg (plate already installed), but since we got him he has drained our savings. He's had to have a cancer spot removed, a cyst in his mouth removed and an exploded oil gland in his leg removed... Poor puppy. If I had to make the decision over again, I would do the same thing. Animals are expensive, or can be. Luckily we are still within our financial limits. But if I got one more pet, we'd be in the poor house. 3 spoiled dogs, 3 kids and a fish tank. You know where our funds are going!

I rescue huskies.Try feeding them oatmeal cookies. Only a few a day. Nutritious and helps them gain a little. My male had trouble eating. I had to feed him Dinty Moore Beef stew. Cheap and help get the weight up. He was 28# when I got him. A month later he was 48#!!!
