Invert only tank, 35 gallon, LR, LS, Millen 1000, Prizm skimmer. Crabs, shrimps, snails etc..no fish due to ich outbreak and removed fish for 30 days, 30 days up: Sep 15th..
Bought two small horseshoe crabs this afternoon, acclimated correctly, did small water change, then released horseshoe crabs into tank, one seems to be doing fine, went to bottom dug and I can't find him now of course, however the other is still swimming on top upside down, hasn't made any attempt at going to bottom yet from what I can see.
Water test before water change indicated nitrates a tad high, other readings normal, 40 drops of prime added during water change. Any advice?

You're going to keep a 20"+ animal in a 35 gal tank... hmmm
Feed it a LOT they are voracious carnivores. Favorite foods are sandworms, amphipods and small crustaceans.

Did I overdo the tank with inverts? I have 3 peppermint shrimp, 1 coral banded shrimp, 1 anemone crab, 1 choc chip starfish, 8 hermits, 6 turbo snails and now the 2 very small horseshoe crabs. Till the tank clears out the ich problem, then I may put in about 3 smaller fish and be done with it. Is that too many? And in the meantine till fish go back in any feeding suggestions for tank?

Its normal for them to swim on their backs. One thing real important with these guys...is make sure the sand bed is small grained, they will spend days at a time buried in it. They come out for a swim every few days, and will usually remain out walking around for a few hours when they do.
Be careful of spots where the rock is close to the glass, but not up against it, they can get stuck. They're great little guys, we've had ours for a long time, and they've both molted twice.
Good luck with them!
