It should be ok. 85 is on the very high side. The main thing is to avoid large temperature fluctuations in a short period of time. I would probably turn my heater up a little bit to avoid low night temps, but less temp increase during the day.

if your temp gets too high you can always try floating a ziplock bag full of ice in it to help bring the temp down.....i've also heard that blowing a clip-on desk fan over the top of the water helps too.

The fan idea is a good one. So is raising the heater setting to avoid a large temperature swing. 83F - 85F is fine but many reef animals require stable water parameters.

Yea it was pretty hot yesterdya and today. I noticed my temp was up to 83. So i turned down the heater to 79 and now it stays between 80-82.

I've had to have my air on the past couple of days. Something I don't usually do. My temp was 85 but with the air on I've been able to keep it at 80. Cant wait to pay that bill  .

I second the fan idea. It should drop your tank at least 3 degrees. You can get them for about $10 at Walmart. Not very attractive but better than cooked fish.
