Most of the worms found in aquariums commonly called Bristleworms are Fireworms. There are a few species of Fireworms that can eat coral but the vast majority of them cannot. There are two species of Fireworms that I'm aware of that can eat small fish but they are both very very uncommon.
The pink Fireworms with the darker irridescent center are very beneficial.
Contrary to popular myth Bristleworms do not change their diet as they get larger. When a 2" detritus eater grows to 24" it will still eat detritus. I keep "large" Fireworms in my Clownfish growout tanks because they are harmless and are very good at eating leftover food and waste.
On the other hand, I have a small Eunicid (~1") in my display tank that is constantly picking at a Toadstool Leather. I suppose I'll have to remove it once it can eat faster than the Toadstool can grow.
