Actually bristle worms are good for your tank! They clean up anything decaying and any leftover food! So if they are not a real problem I wouldn't worry about them!

I agree withe Nerdy; they're extremely benificial to the aquarium. They do great cleaning jobs around the tank. I would keep them.
One word of advice- Never listen to the LFS.

I actually had a friend give me a rock with bristle worms living in it just to add to my supply. Something in my tank likes to eat them and I need them for helping keep the rocks and sand bed clean of detritus.

how big are they?
if they are not like 2 ft long, do not wrry about hem
but if you really want to get them, a few wrasses are heartier and eat them as well

I would love a bristle worm, but i have heard a sally lightfoot will eat them. They cost less than a beta too! Bi-color grammas/diademas are also rumored bristle eaters.

I freaked out the first time I saw a bristle worm. But IMO, as long as there's not a huge amount of them in your tank, they are beneficial, they do a great job of keeping the rocks/sand clean, and as mentioned, they are good for taking care of decay.

yes, they are quite beneficial...i did however once want to remove one that was getting a bit large for my taste and i found a simple method: 1) wait til evening, 2) poise yourself ready and watching with a flashlight in one hand, turkey baster in the other, 3) wait for him to rear his lil/or big head 4) insert turkey baster and *slurp* suck him up. 5) dispense turkey baster contents into garbage disposal. problem solved...but really, i only did this with one guy who was as long as the turkey baster and living in my sump--he was starting to scare me...i know he's not like that 8 ft monster someone pulled out of their pvc, but still...i like the lil ones :)

2 ft, 4 ft, hmmmm, getting quite large
a couple of inches, maybe even 12 or so, is fine if you ask me. But where in the world would you want to keep one that is as long as your arm or even longer?

fshhub,
I have two bristol worms about 20" long living in my tank. They do quite a nice job with the clean up. They're mostly in the back of the aquarium or hiding somewhere in the rocks, but you can sometimes catch a peak at them when the lighting is off :)
