Your PH is fine where it is. PH needs to stay as stable as possible. Anywhere from 8.2-8.4 is fine. Pick one and just keep it there.

Not in my opinion. If you ask enough people you'll find someone that has success though.

I once used a product from Kordon that was successful when I doubled the dosage that they recommended. But since then I have went to QT and Hypo much better results.
