Flower, I owned one of these tanks and actually just gave it away to a coworker. She is using it to raise freshwater fry, but she is having issues with the babies getting caught under the filter cartridge. I believe that you will have the same issues.
Thanks for the heads up. I do have 5g buckets...but growing them out seems pretty difficult to keep them alive. LOL..It reminds me of when I tried to raise rats for my snake to eat. I landed up with pet rats.
Any ideas on keeping little baby horses in the refugium? I'm pretty sure I can rig some kind of mesh gizmo so they don't go into the overflow and be swallowed and chopped up by the return pump.

I myself have been experimenting with raising brine shrimp. The hatching part is really quite simple. Raising them to adulthood, for me, is proving to be difficult to say the least. But due to my nature i will not stop until I've managed to successfully raise them to adulthood in worthwhile numbers.
I'm posting my efforts in a video diary on you tube. I would be more than grateful for advise.

Hi, and welcome to the site.
You should start your own thread, so we can follow each step of the way. You know, it really sounds like a huge hassle. I wanted live food for my critters too. I went with a refugium, and seeding it with amphipods and copepods, it's much easier, and the live food much more nutritious.
At any rate...WELCOME!
