Hey! Yes, us Okies are a colorful bunch! But mountain oysters are delicious battered, fried and served with ranch dressing!
I'm not ashamed to say I eat them. I help my neighbor collect them off his calves every spring.

That's interesting. I know a guy who eats these. When my friend has to 'collect' these, he gives them to this guy who fries them up and eats them...that's a lot of cow testicles and he eats them all.

EDIT: Cow testicles doesn't really make sense does it? lol

No, they taste really beefy and have kinda a spongy texture. If they're overcooked they'll be like chewing a rubber tire and taste awful. It's definitely an acquired taste. Kinda reminds me of a chicken fried steak. They're good dipped in cream gravy too.

meat balls..

Stating the obvious there Doc. lol They really just have a more beefy flavor. It's really not that bad. Don't knock it til you try it.

I was the same way til my dad told me to eat a chicken fried steak bite (except it wasn't fried steak). lol Dipped it in cream gravy and really couldn't tell the difference other than the texture is a little different, not bad, just different. Then he told me "You know what you just ate?" (me) "No." "Cow testicles." I was in shock for the first minute then ate the rest on my plate. lol Been eating them ever since.

I'm not knocking it. I am sure they taste very good.*(sincerely). I have eaten tongue, goat and who knows what all else...IO grew up in Texas and ate at some of those non English speaking restaurants. My best friend ordered for me....Now, THATS a friend you better be able to trust.
