its cool that there is more than one store here. I cant wait until this spring when kyle says they have to have the addition open to make room for the Koi LOL.

I chose 25-50 miles. I have 3 or 4 stores closer but they kinda suck. I have to travel an hour to get to a store with a decent selection.

Which one? I use 4 different LFS all for different reasons. The furthest away is 40 miles. Happens to be a wholesaler. :)
NM & Aggie,
I lived in Houston for three years while attending law school. Aquarium World still ranks up there on my list. I love the size of their display tank but the river like reef with sharks captivated me. They still have that?

ags - all - just curious as to which one do you frequent the most and how far is it. Also - how many of you cruise differnet LFS stores over your lunch hour ....

Actually the nice thing about 2 of the 4 I go to is their proximity to each other. Both are on the same road but 7-10 miles apart. If I go to one hell I might as well keep on truckin to the other one. These 2 happen to be the ones I frequent most. They are roughly 20 miles away. A walk in the park compared to NM's 110 mile one way journey. I rarely hit the wholesaler because of time. The closest one to my house, 2 miles away, only carries fish and given $30-$50 to spend on my tank I 99% of the time elect to spend it on coral. :D

Marquette........not very good selection, but can special order
Marquette........decent selection, but so much ich comes from it
Gladstone........limited selection, insane prices $145 for 3" lion
Escanaba.........very limited selection, tanks are extremely crowded 5" yellow tang in a 15 gallon tank
Menominee......good selection, high prices
other wise out of state to Green Bay, but prices are for the most part too high

There are maybe 6 stores within 5 miles that sell supplies and som fish but I have to drive 50+ to get a store that sells everything for a reef from sand, live rock, salt, clams, mushrooms, live coral. In other words soup to nuts. Livestock available is done by a phone call or online.

One in Reno,NV (1hr) beautiful place but hit or miss on know-how
Several in Sacramento,CA 2 that I have bought from within the last year.
Looking for one in San Francisco planning a trip for Nursery School and going to be there one weekend this month for 2 days.

Hey noticed someone does all (or almost all) of their shopping on-line - how's that working out for you and why do you do it that way???
