how important is actinic supplimentation

I guess the bottom line is it's up to the individual.
Everything will do fine without them, but you'll be missing out on some great effects.

Its not important to have but it sure is nice to see your corals glow when actinics are on.

well it all depends on the mh lights i will buy. If they are a yellowish tint then ill buy suppliment with pc, but if its a crisp white-blue then ill just use my no lights

No, that's not true.
Actinic light (420nm) is actually slightly more useful than other visible light.

Actinic's do provide a lighting spectrum good for photosynthesis right?? So, even if they are not "required" they are still contributing to the overall PAR our put??
