I have had my 10 gal for a little over a year, and I've benn keeping corals for about 8 months. I was thinking about how much $$ I have put into my tank all included I came up with a figure right around 5100 dollars :scared:
now I am not saying that I will spend that much each year on but wow :eek:
and right now I am about 2 weeks from filling my 100 gal and starting that cycle :help:

I hope that is a typo. I have a 10g that I've spent about $600 on for everything.
Tank = $10
Stand = $50
70w Oceanlight MH = $230
20lbs+/- LR = $65-$80
2 true percs = $54
Kenya Tree Coral = $45
Monti frags = $30
HOB filter = $20
2 Green-banded gobies = $12(gave myself an employee discount)
Misc shrimp and cleaners = $35+/-
How could you spend more than $1000 on a 10g tank?
I have this real nice investment you might be interested in.......

I guess youve never bought any test kits, heaters, powerheads, refractometer/hydrometer, additives, salt mix, ro water, etc.
I am talking about all of the money that I have spent on my tank in the past year everything included down to the weekly waterchanges

are you kidding me? 5100 dollars is 51 100 dollar bills, that would be about 3/4 of an inch thick

:rolleyes: . I highly doubt that, that all cost that much money. But if it did you really need to shop around more :scared: .Why dont you check out the famous auction site you can get everything you need there for half the price that LFS charge.

nope not quite I've lost 2 false percs 1 damsel 2 royal grammas a couple of blue leg hermits and one electric blue hermit
the only coral I have lost is a monti digi frag I got for 15$
I'm shure there are plenty of other people that have lost alot more livestock than that in their first year of keeping a saltwater tank
