How often to do a water change

every 2-3 days, i take out a gallon, mix a new gallon, and dump it in.
this way they get some "fresh" water quite often. it works for me.
overall, i go through maybe 5 gal per week. on a biocube 14.
ps- before you do water change, make sure you top off first...

I disagree 100%, The water column is basically a sewer in a closed loop system, i.e the home aquarium. It is crucial that routine water changes are done.
true but the sump is the water treatment plant
