Not everyone gets fully cured, and it can cause big issues.

They all seem to be doing just great today. I am about to test the water and see if my levels are good. But so far so good. I want to take some pics of the new set up. The new aquascaping looks good I think. Plus went to sale on tanks at the superstore and got a little 10g that I am going to set up as a QT. Will that be too small??

Thanks Flower for all our help. Changing to the RO makes me feel good. Looks like I might be asking Santa for a nice RO/DI unit for Xmas. Until then I think that LFS or Walmart can get me by, after all I just have a 29g set up...FOR NOW!!!! LOL.

It all depends on the fish you want to quarantine. For a dish no larger than say a goby (4 inches)..10g should be fine.

I just have the 29g setup, so I don't think that I will be getting anything too big. Good that make me happy.
 
BTW I did the water tests and the levels look great. I actually droped my Nitrates with the big water change. But I still want to keep an eye on everything.
 
I also have a question on lighting, but I think that I will start a new post.

Here are some pictures of the new change over to sand. Does anyone know what that little white thing is in the sand? It's on a piece of live rock I got over a month ago, but never noticed it.

I love the rock pieces, You could use a some more in there, but wow it does look good.
 
If whatever is on the rock a sponge, try and remove it. You have exposed it to air and if it's a sponge it will die, I don't know how toxic if at all sponges are when they die.

Not toxic at all flower.....I get that stuff on filters and expose them all the time
....some get cleaned off.....some don't

Thanks for the feedback. I am going to the LFS tonight to maybe get some more rock and a small CUC. The pic of the white thing did not turn out so good but it has some tenticals on the top of a base that will wave around in the current. Should I really try to pick it off? I thought that I had something cool, but if it needs to go, it can.
 
I am starting to understand why everyone was trashing Damsels. There is one dominate one in my tank, and I am afraid that he is slowly trying to kill the other yellow tail damsel. He had him pinned in the corner of the tank by the larger powerhead and keep nipping at him pretty hard. Should I interveen? Or just let it go? I think that I might bring all the damsels back and get something different. What do you think?

as far as the white thing....I'd leave it for now...see what it does, maybe try to get a better pic of it

I am going to LFS tonight and we will see. I am thinking of two clowns. The white thing will stay then. Its tuff to get a good pic because it is white with white sand all around it. I will see what I can do. My brother has a nice DSLR that I think can focus in real good. I might have him come over this weekend and take some pics.

The Damsels are gone!!!
 
Those darn things were hard to get out. I am starting to understand why they are "devil fish". They were replaced with two clowns. So far I like them a lot more.
