How to have a democrat win the presidency.

If the democrats want to win the presidency, they need to figure out one thing. Iraq. While the citizens of this great nation want the war over...The majority do NOT want a precipitous withdrawal. The democrats need to realize this or they will lose the presidency again....
Also, the candidate the democrats chose......should not have voted to not fund the troop bill...The republicans will paint this very badly....If these two criteria are not met, they will lose again....Mark my words, of all the issues in this country, these two will come to be a plague for the democratic candidate and cost them the election.

This country needs leaders not more politicians, I dont see many this time around. Ive been impressed by the way Ron Paul handled the debates though.

Ron Paul? Are you kidding me? The guy has no leadership nor sense of reality...

I am Republican and I am thinking that the American people anyway will vote in a Democrat. They are tired of the deficit and the war so i see the following taking place within the first year:
1. Troops will get pulled out of Iraq to soon.
2. Troop strength will get cut almost in 1/2.
3. Nothing will get done with the illegal alien problem.
Just my opinion; but bet it will happen.

They all stink IMO, but why do you think Ron Paul has no sense of reality? He has a consistent voting record and a realistic view on securing our borders.

History has proven otherwise....Look at every election for the past hundred years that took place during a war and you will see there wasn't a party change at President during any of them.
History always repeats itself.

The country has changed Darth. We've never been this spoiled or this out of touch with reality as a nation before.
Hillary will get the nomination and campaign on "fixing" Iraq (she probably won't give a comprehensive plan) and "reparing world opinion of the US".
If the Republicans don't nominate Giuliani to put NY, Jersey, and Penn into play it will fall to her.
It's not about issues anymore. It's about spin, media coverage, and hate on both sides.

if a democrat does win though and an attack here or abroad happens the democrats will lose whatever creditability that they had and maybe destroy the party fingers crossed...tobin

Consistant voting record, yes...But how has he cast those votes...The guy isn't your regular Republican but more of democrat with with Republican "morals"...His main fault is his stance on IRAQ...He would have us not have a precense or aid or support any country in the middle east. This is not a realistsic view point in today's global politics.
He also said 9/11 happened because we were helping Iraq and Afghanistan in the 1980's...however that doesn't explain the terrorist acts before that.

I do believe John Kerry Tried this....Yep, that was his campaign...and I am sorry the republican nominee will have a fresh start over Bush's "tainted" 4 years. The strategy did not work then, how can it work now....Either way we will get a new guy....or girl....but it will be a much deeper campaign in order for the dem's to have a solid chance.
Personally I want to see Thompson get the bid or Guiliani...

I doubt it Tobin...
For one, the media won't hold them accountable. We were attacked 6 or 7 times under the Clinton administration. No one ever brings this up. You'll never hear a Democratic candidate questioned on this.
Secondly, imo, the Democrats will blame President Bush. They are already setting up for that. We're hearing more and more talk about how the world is "more dangerous now". The media won't report that 9-11 was planned during the Democrat's watch.

I hope you are right man.
I like Thompson but don't think he'll be able to draw moderates the way Guiliani will. And to me this time that's what I'm voting on... stick an (R) behind Satan on the ballot and I'd vote for him over Hillary.
