How To Plant New Plants

I just recieved the following and just need to know if they are planted in the DSB or, as the website recommends, super-glued to the live rock
:
Cactus Caulerpa
Caulerpa Mexicana
Tall Codium
Dictoya ciliolata
Fauchea
Fern caulerpa
Fire fern
Flame algae
Halmidea
It would seem to me that planting in the DSB would make alot more sense, but this is my first stab at SW plants.

I guess I can assume there is little known about aquarium plants.
Since i could find very little on the web and nothing here. I planted them in the DSB with what I thought was the bottom of the plants. Some of the pieces are so small and torn up, I could hardly tell.

Algae should not be buried in the substrate, it's not like a plant that derives nurtients from the roots. Algae gets its nutrition from the water column and light. Gluing to rock is a much better idea. It will do best with moderate waterflow (not low waterflow) and the more light the better.
Most of the species you listed can grow very fast and become a pest. Just keep it tightly trimmed and you'll have less trouble with it.
