its okay you guys i get what both you are saying about ich being able to live anywhere that is wet but i guess nothing is easy in this hobby but the rewards are great. i have set up a 10g QT to put my cleaner shrimp,snails, hermits,and one small anemone in. the QT tank is not cycled but i have lots of water on hand for water changes because i have a RO. so what has to be in the QT tank i have some small crushed coral for it is that good? i have a powerhead, heater. anything else? if i am lucky i can start the hypo treatment in my main tank tommorow.

i didnt do the hypo treatment because my fish were getting lots better. i also installed my UV steralizer which should break its life cycle up a bit. sorry if i wasted your time but i learned alot and if the ick is back i know a lot more from you guys, thanks.

Sharing info is never a waste of time. I would take this time to set up a QT/HT tank if you do not already have one. I hope that you will not have another ich attack but I fear you will and it will be nice to be prepared. Good luck.

thanks, i am going to set one up soon i have a 75g laying around that cracked about a year ago and i am now going to try to patch it up and use that. if not succesful i will get a 30-45g tank. the other reason i didnt do the hypo treatment was because my dad thinks ich will always be in the aquarium and theres no treatment but to keep a fish healthy. but by the looks of my powder brown tang today and angel itching on rocks he may change his mind i bet.
so just to clarify i can do a hypo treatment with live rock and live sand? i dont mind killing the pods because i havnt seen any.
