You don't want to put it on the actual coral....put it on the rock or plug the coral comes on....I use Holdfast epoxy stick.......it seems to work for me
Lugols will "hopefully" kill any bug that may be on the coral....I know you can dip zoas, and leathers, I just don't know about everything else

If you are not sure about the dip do not use it. I am still upset about the brain I killed and it was over 2 years ago. If you make some really xtra salty seawater and only dip the rock up to the edge of the coral...anything on it will fall right off in a few seconds and it won't hurt the coral to be out of water that short time.
Just a note, just in case you get one, they have great color! a sponge is not a coral, it must never be exposed to air even for a second. Hold the bag underwater and take the sponge out, no need to acclimate. They need to live in the shade, so place under an overhang or in a cave.
