well, where is the pics. Please
dudes. patience. PLEASE. this cake is NOT. DONE.
I spent over ten hours today making batch after batch of icing... over 15lbs of it, actually. then I had to VERY CAREFULLY cut each of the nine cakes into 2 layers, fill the spaces between the layers with icing, and then painstakingly carve the tiers to make sure they were perfectly round and even. Then I had to coat each tier w/ a layer of frosting (called the crumb-coat) so the fondant (which goes on tomorrow) doesn't come in contact with the actual cake itself.
it was... a herculean task. this is my biggest cake yet, and I'm so exhausted.
...but I did manage to take some pix 4 u of the crumb-coated tiers sitting in my fridge

the 1st pic is the top 3 tiers; a 6" round, a 9" round, & a 14" round.
the 2nd pic is the bottom tier - this one's a monster at 16 inches!!

Sure men like cake, I do, but asking intricate details of the cake making process (normally directed towards the appearance) is bordering metro sexuality.....just saying.

You have to give her a lot of credit, to her and her talent. I’m Italian so we love to cook but I sure as hell can’t make wedding cake. Plus the fact its kind of nice seeing and knowing just a smidge of why our wedding cake cost a couple of grand. Believe me, when I saw the bill for a wedding cake I did not think for a minute as a straight man a cake could or would cost a couple of g’s.
Seeing and reading about it I can kind of understand why. Especially since its made by hand and everything is made from scratch.
A labor of love and a job that makes her happy, sure I can support that and help push her forward.
I know the money we spent on the wedding cake did not go toward any swf or coral, stupid creep guy probably spent it on his hair, Fabio looking ******* ****. I kept looking for an Adams apple.

it was for the brother of a friend, CK dear, so that secret stays with me

but generally a cake like this would start at about $4.00 per serving and go as high as the stars....

I would but I can't seem to find the taste button.
Looks good...not my style...but then again I couldn't even tell you what my wedding cake looked like for my first wedding. (didn't have one this time around as we eloped).

on a side note I do remember what my cake cost. Because my initial reaction was, "We are spending how much for a cake?!!!!! ****?!?!?!!?"
