Well I was taking off my collection cup and I cracked my neck to the skimmer. So I was just wondering, what would be better to seal the crack. All it is, is a crack. Nothing more. No loose pieces etc Just a leaky crack at the neck that leads to the collection cup.
JB weld
2 part Epoxy
Silicone
Thank you ahead of time.

The 2 part epoxy would be my vote... However you will need to take it out of the tank and let it dry for a day and then rinse it really well. I would also silicone it on the inside. I will say this though...It won't ever work the same.

Well Silicone on the inside would not be a good Idea due to this is the neck that the collection cup slides in and out of.
But I was already looking at the 2part. I was also thinking just drill the Collection cup and Seal it in to the skimmer forever and have a drain tube to a collection jug (Old Milk Jug)

That stuff is awesome though...I used it to glue the handles back onto my Kenmore ELITE fridge with crappy broken handles...We broke one handle, ordered a new one for $75, then that one and the other origional one broke. 2 part epoxyed them both and have been going strong for months

Post some pics of the cracked area....probably just shoot a little weld on #4 in it and it will be good as new.

Silicone worked fine. I was going to use the Epoxi, but The stress of the cup would have just recracked the same place. So Silicone worked and I did not have to take the skimmer out. If worst comes to worst. ill just get a new neck for the skimmer. No Biggie.

You should be able to order another piece. Plastic wont hold for that long with silicone, it is a temperary fix that should get you through till a replacement comes.

Less then 3 months old. I was just a little Rough with it.
For a skimmer that new..did you try calling the manufacturer...I mean..what did you do to it that would make it crack.....maybe it was defective to begin with

Naw I know better. I cracked it when I was taking off the Collection cup and I used too much force in the wrong direction.

if its typical acrylic do it right and run some acrylic weld solvent down the crack with an applicator or syringe. it will be leak free and back in action in all of the 15 seconds it takes to harden and dry completely. not to mention it will look 10x better than any of the other methods if they even hold.
