i am with bulldog i own a concrete company and mostly do work for homeowners.go to thier home measure up and give a price.
i would say 50-60% of the time they ask ifthats the best i can do.
i never get insulted as i know the custom decrative work i do is a bit pricey.hell i wouldnt pay $5000 for a 700 sq. ft. patio.
i just tell them i can do better at a cash price.
then they say green cash or a check.just a check in my name instead of the business .i will take off up to 20% and yet to have anyone say no i think i will pay full and write it to the comopany.
meaning behind them .sometime we just need to let things go a little.

good job just admitting to large amounts of tax fraud/evasion

Oh really now.. come on!
If you can prove that you have claimed every penny that has ever crossed through your fingers... then you have room to talk! That is so not what this is about... and I guarantee you have done something similar.... we all have...

Well then I'll get in line with people jumping off the bridge because everyone does it.

I'd like to think there are a few of us honest people left as much as it sucks sending all that tax money to the gov't for them to misuse or how it would kill everyone to pay 99 cents for a song.
As far as not shopping there if they were nice to me and mean to you I'd still shop there. If they wronged me once -- I'd never go back. I'm spiteful like that

So you're telling me that you have claimed every cent of everything ever? Not possible... everyone misses a penny or two somewhere.... That is what I am saying... I am sure this guy has sold a fish or a coral on CL or "traded" it for cash... And I am sure he didn't claim it... It does count for income. Same as if someone mowed lawns on the side for spending cash... it's income. You should claim it and I am sure there are some of us who haven't whether by accident, or on purpose.
I never asked anyone not to shop there either. And I am right with you there jackri... I would shop there until something happened to me, but I do appreciate someone giving me a heads up.... If someone has this experience before and said "hey just be careful...." that would be cool with me... it wouldn't make me chastise the owner and never shop there...

lol I am not following lemming nor squirrel. I don't work so I won't be filing anything this year except an exemption form... I don't do anything on the side or have anything coming in... my bf on the other hand....
I just don't think it's right for anyone to criticize someone who owns a business and is just trying to give people a little break. lol I am a complete right wing but I come from a family of entrepreneurs and from the ground up businesses and they are about making money, yes, but we give a break anytime we can... It's not like we're swindling people out of millions and millions of dollars and I am sure the guy with the concrete company isn't either. It's more like 1000 dollars over the fiscal year.
I seriously doubt that that is what lead america into it's troubled state...
I certainly has nothing to do with people living in 500K homes when they make 70k a year...
lol

My thing is knowingly defrauding someone or some entity out of money -- not by accident. I ran a small business and accounted for everything -- which really sucked because at the tax bracket I was in the extra from my side business -- well half was sucked away by taxes.
I know a lot of people that do cash deals and burn movies and rip music... up to them if that's their morals, but I don't and won't be teaching my daughter to cheat. Just something I personally don't do or promote

it was less of a serious claim and more of a pointer to not brag about that kind of thing. especially in public forum.
i may or may not do lots of fraudulent things
to each his own

I honestly don't think he was bragging. He was making a point and sharing some experience.
Jackri- I am glad someone is parenting out there... I don't really care so much what you're teaching, but that you are teaching... lol please tell me you believe in spankings when deserved....
But really, it's nice that you're attempting a crack a raising a good kid... It's sooo...refreshing.

I copy CDs and DVD's and it is not illegal, it states that it cannot be re-sold that is theft. BUT in the end we are all stealing in every way, we live on land stolen from the native americans, were killing the earth, Blah blah blah. Its all about making good choices and treating people fairly. No one is going to remeber someone who forgot to claim that $3000 lotto ticket on their taxes if they donated the money to some worthy cause...

yeah... smalltriggers... have to disagree there... That's like... a big no no. You will definitely go to jail for all of those things... I have maybe ripped a DVD or 2 two my PC but it's all been dvd's I have bought and then keep for my own use...
Ad as far as the lotto thing... yes... someone will remember... because if you don't pay those taxes.... you will be in BIG trouble. lol Remember that guy off of survivor.... Richard or whatever... the

[hr]
gay dude... he didn't pay and they went after him like 4 years later...
That kind of stuff will always catch up with you... Bad news.

I am a business owner, and I would never do that to a customer, if they are in the right or in the wrong. A customer should always leave your place of business with warm and fuzzy feelings towards you and their purchase. Even if they can't, they should still do it in a way so you don't feel bad. SO SHAME ON THEM!!!
On another note, I have no problems asking for a deal... I tend to deal with only 2 LFS in my area, and they know I am going to always ask them. I just bought 6 peppermint shrimp, he was selling for $17 each... I asked for my deal, got them for $12 each and the sixth one was free...
This is why I only deal with these 2 LFS, because of their customer service!!!
