I finished adding mollies...

Just wanted to say i just finished converting mollies to saltwater yesterday. I used a 5 gallon bucket an airstone and airline tubing. I driped water into the bucket from my main tank for 6 hours then i acclimated the mollies like i do any other saltwater fish.

Why would you add Mollies to a SW tank?

First off they will suplly my sea horses with food, when they mate. Secondly they will eat algae of the rocks.

so they can be easily adapted and they can live with seahorses with no problem?

So far they have already eaten and i have seen them eating some of my hair algae and now it is practically 1/4 gone.

how much fresh water did u add to the 5 gal. first before u started adding the salt water. i thought about doing this but wasn't sure how.

I knew that mollies would live in SW, but have they sucesssfully mated in SW???

I did not get the same type so they have not mated yet. I used a blakc molly and a white one. The only freshwater i used was what came in the bag. I am planning on getting a pair of balloon mollies one male and one female.

My pair produce 40 - 50 baby Mollies a month.

wow, very cool! Are you using the fry for food also?

Another question as well - do you harvest the fry and just toss them in the main tank??
