i have 12 nassarius and over 20 cerith/astrea/turbo snails and none of em touch it.
i've reduced my lighting, added ph's right over the area, lowered my food. no phosphates or nitrates, nothing nothing nothing is stopping it. i HATE the thought of adding a chemical but its horrid. the tendrils on the algae are getting 2-3 inches long :(

no corals, i dont think at least. there are some barnacle type things on my rock, and a clam embedded into my rock (like a huge cleaner clam), but i haven't bought any corals for this reason.
btw, here's my cyano waving at you...

i have turned off my daytime lights yes, but not my actinics.
that clam is actually part of my live rock and has been doing well. i'd have to break apart my rock to get it out.
i have a pink and blue shrimp goby so i dont think i can get a sand sifting one, sides i'd have to qt it for 3 weeks and by then... :scared:
i thought stars were not all that great since they eat beneficial organisms out of the sand and not the cyano itself. i do though have a bristle star so i don't know if it would be ok with a sand sifter.
