Please keep us posted on how the coral beauty does in your 30 gal tank. My wife really wants one of these but we have been told more than once that our 29 gal cube isn't big enough.

If he is one of the only ones in there, then he should be ok IMO. But will require a well established tank (6-10) months and alot of rock work.
Sorry for the hijack Seth

If we do not learn something EVERYDAY then it is a wasted day my friend. IMO, in my opinion.

Seth,
I don't think anyone with ANY experience should have sold you that fish. The main reason is that it is very obvious it has ick. All over! I would take it back just because of that fact, the LFS guy has most likely infected your entire tank.

Did you read this entire thread saltfreak4? It is the markings on the orbic bat, not ich, look at his tailfin, no spots.

Yeah, I read it! Whatever you say. I see it doesn't have any on the tailfins and that they all had the same marks on them. But it looks like there is some on the top fin to me. But to each his own. Got a real good deal on both the fish though. He looks good, other than the "spots". Hope it's not ich (that would be fabulous).

come on guys, don't flame him. He knows he can't keep the bat, let it go, this post was active hours ago and all was well.

I dont know how long youve had your 30 set up, but it seems as if your adding fish a little fast as well. Coral Beauty and batfish the same day, the adding a blenny the next? Take a couple weeks between fish to let your bioload keep up, also angelfish need a tank thats established, been up for 6 months or more, good luck with your fish, but seems to me that there was more mistakes here then just the batfish.

Noone on here has said anything harsh to him to be considered a flame. People have simply pointed out info that may BENEFIT him. Are you two dating or something?

Seth, a little advice, most fish that grow to large sizes do so rapidly. The only slow growing fish I've ever owned is a Huma Huma. This advice is from my own personal experience, So take it with a grain of salt.

I dont know anything about Bat's...I cant give an opinion..What I do know is my LFS has one in their DT..He is like 2 I think maybe older, but he is also about 12' top to bottom..Everything I have READ(caps showing that its not exp I speak from but reading)says that they are very hard to care for and alot of others will nip at their fins. I want one so bad, but dont think i am ready to be able to care for one..Good luck I hope he does great, please do get a bigger tank or return for the sake of the fish..Looks cool though.

I hope you were'nt referring to my post, because I quoted YOU in it.

Everyone seemed to jump off onto the ich train and size bandwagon so fast, I just wanted to ensure Seth knows how important a QT is, especially for sitations like this. I.E.-introducing new fish to DT and possibility of a sick fish.
Seth, you're doing fine...
