I got one!!

Thanks to the help of many of you on my quest to find a dog, me and the wife decided that we would start looking more into local rescue places and we found our new baby!
We just picked him up today......he is four months old and the only info that we could get on him is that he is mixed with a Chow. :eek: The only thing on him that resembles a Chow is the tongue.......nice and purple.......actually more of a purple/pink mix.
He is adorable and we fell in love with him as soon as we saw him. :)
His name is Harlan........Harlan Pepper. :D

I really do wish that I knew what he was mixed with......kind of frustrating. His paws are giant! He is going to be a big one.

Feed him good, No wal mart Ol'Roy. That stuff is awful.

kinda reminds me of that dog on that movie funny farm with chevy chase, you know the one where the dog is laying by the fire and his tail catches on fire.:eek:
great looking dog (give him a pat for me, i love animals) and you are right with those paws he will be huge.

That dog is so cute Rye. I did the same thing with my dog Jake. He was a cute little guy who looked so sad. Great dog Rye hope you guys have a blast with him.

He is a cutie!!! I told you once you hit the shelters all the research goes down the drain and you end up with a mix of who knows what with those big puppy dog eyes!!! Happened to me 3 times now. I have found these to be the best pets though. Good luck with the new addition!:D

That is an adorable new addittion to your family! Don't worry too much about the paws. When we adopted our dog, he had huge paws, and we thought the same thing. Well, he is now about five years old, and his paws are still huge (too big for him it looks like). But he is a regular sized lab-mix. Oh yeah, we feed ours Beneful, and it's about all he'll eat. He does not like the higher priced stuff. Just my .02.Congratulations
