Im just letting nature take its course. I dont have a big enough ick curring tank. I am in the process of finding one but people on the "city" classifieds are so greedy on 40 million year old tanks

Sorry, but all your fish now have ick.......You wont get rid of it unless you treat it. It is very likely all your fish will die within a few days of each other. I suspect 3 weeks from now.....

Oh come on now....surely not....People help build their fish immune systems to fight it...all the time

I've never had any luck fighting it that way.
I had a total tank wiped out within three days of each other a couple years ago. Three weeks after adding fish with ick. It happens, all the time.

So what do you do if you have an extremely large tank, lots of rock, corals, etc...and you see that a fish hs ick....Throw a hair dryer in the tank

seriously what can you do?
Have you ever heard of para guard? Will it hurt coral or anemones??

Good lawd woman.
...Dont throw a dryer in there.
You have to remove the fish, treat them and then let the DT go fallow. If you have a very large system, you can get away with a much smaller tank for a short stay of 4-6 weeks. Even Rubbermaid tote or two would work, you can use some of your equipment for the QT if you just simply let it dry out thoroughly before adding it to the QT. Then whenever you get a new fish put it in the QT for treatment prior to adding it.
A simple 10 gallon will work for most any new arrivals. It can be set up upon arrival of new fish and tore down after treatment.
IMO those bottles are all snake oil........

I don't see how if you have a large tank..lots of rock, corals and lots of fish..you can use a small tank? What do you do with 200 lbs of live rock? + the corals and fish? You can't keep them in totes for 4-6 weeks...can you?

No you leave those in the DT. Then move the fish to the QT. Or several smaller tanks. You dont have to treat the sand, rock, corals, inverts. Just the fish. BUT you do need to let the DT go fishless(fallow) for 4-6(most say six) weeks. This wuill break the life cycle of the parasite as it cant live without a host (fish).
A simple 10 gallon can prevent this all from happening.....

If you want you can overnight your corals to me and I can put them in my reef tank til you're ready. I'm in Oklahoma so they won't have to go too far once you've settled and have everything set up.

Thanks, but I have decided to get a 30-40 gallon and set it up at my folks house.
Only my 2 tangs have ick and have had it for a week if not longer but everyone else is fine

Yea from what I hear they have become more picky about stuff like that. You be amazed at how many soldiers lie about medical issues and then bring them out once they get in.
But with all the conditions that you just listed, I wouldnt want you working for the military. That would be so harsh on your body. There were a couple guys in my neghborhood that had to get discharged because they screwed their backs up. They are makign them carry so much more equipment now then they did just a few years ago. Alot of ingrown toe nail problems too. (stupid boots)
Yea and the bonuses are like going bye bye or lowered alot because so many people want to join. Its crazy

i did lie about my medical issues. it only took the physical from them to tell there was something wrong,
when my knees had less than half the normal knee bend.
my left hip with half as much bend as the right hip.
they didn't know about my back and concussions until they got my medical records

i got a thing in the mail saying i could get between $10,000 and $15,000 for enlisting and $30,000 a year. and i was thinking that looked good to be, but they said my body was just to beat up from high school football.

My son fractured his leg at the age of 2 on a trampoline and I have wondered if that is going to affect his ability to play in the future
