I was putting my new 44 pentagon in my room today (cause pops wanted it out of the garage), and I was carrying it by my 29, and somehow managed to hit the corners of the tanks together. Well, aparently, a real easy way to chip glass is to hit it with another peice of glass right on the edge.
So, what I'm stuck with now is chipped corners on both of my tanks. The 29's pretty bad, but the 44's not too terrible.
Right now there's about 1/16 of an inch of glass and some silicone holding the water in the 29 at a small spot on the corner, and the whole chipped edge is maybe 6" long. I'm thinking if I put some silicone on it, it should be ok for a while.
And the 44 isn't bad at all... there's a few small chips that went maybe a 1/4 of the way through... so some silicone on that should hold it for a while.
Anyway, what do you guys think? Time for a new 29? Any idea what it should run? Or, any way to fix it? Maybe get a new peice of glass and replace it?
Thanks for any advice.
