I need a prize....

Im one of the pastors at my church, and as you can see from my avatar picture, Ive got a lot of extra groceries packed on. My church is kicking around the idea of doing our own biggest loser competition for those of us who could afford to lose some pounds. The problem is that we need some really cool prize that will inspire people to get off their butts and participate aside from just the simple fact that they will live longer. any ideas?

my cousin did this at work. They each put money in a pot and who ever lost the most got the pot. I think they had one for women and one for men since they loose at different paces

Well, in the south I think a bucket of fried chicken would be good... you know forget prizes, why not do it as a fund raiser? get people to make pledges, and then get everyone to weigh in and they get the joy of raising money for missions or something...

Or see if you can get a Local Fitness center to donate a membership to the winner. Say the winner gets a year 2nd place 6 months 3 place 3 months. Also with that includes Personal Training. Then have a 500 dollar prize to the winner.

10 more years healthy productive life? I just cannot imagine a greater gift. What would that actually be worth in terms of dollars? $1,000,000? $2,000,000? Would you spend $2,000,000 for an additional 10 years of healthy living? I know I would.

I'm with Bang on this one. God wants us to live a long full life and that's why he has so many recommendations on how to live correctly and EAT CORRECTLY in the Bible. Your prize is feeling good and not needing to rock yourself several times before you can stand up from a chair.
