I need help with algae

OK....so the new filter has been running 2 days.....still trying to get the skimmer back on track.....got the new cuc today....I HOPE THEY ARE HUNGRY.....LOL

Lois, you said this stuff doesn't blow off easily, yes?
I wonder if this is red turf algae. Pics are hard to tell by. If it is, it's a PIA to get rid of. My Foxface ate it like crazy, but I'd say you're definitely already at your fish limit in here!

It doesn't look red...I think I had that stuff in the 30g, but it pulled off super easy when I grabbed it, it came up in big tuffs, and was very very red.

Nova I have a foxface...LOL....and no..it is a brownish color....the top blows off easy...then there is a fuzz left
If a snail passes over a spot it cleans it....but then it eventually comes back.....I am hoping with my new stuff and cuc they will help some

OK.....I do not seem to be getting anywhere.....have done so many different things.....today I added some more cuc.....a couple of red foot snails, 2 diff type of trochus, and a spotted sea hare
I am thinking of doing a smaller w/c.........reason is I keep reading smaller more frequent is better

SOOOOO if I do 20 gallons a week...INSTEAD of 40g's every other week.....would that be better???? ADVICE needed on that
If I cut down the food anymore, the vlamingi is gonna jump out of the tank and try to eat me LOL......
I am really trying to do this W/O chemicals.......Probably gonna move the flow around a little.....NEXT will be the 3rd MP40.....I just can not do it right now :(

Here's what I think you need to do. Automate the water change system. How many gallons is the total system with sump?
