that was my point.
thats what summer vacation is for .
if you want to get extra credits that is great but i dont think it should be pushed onto you .
summer job ,some extra cash to go out and have fun with friends and a way to say i better do better when i am in school so i dont have to flip burgers when i am done.
it sure isnt like it was 20 yrs ago getting out of high school.now you need at least a 2 yr degree to even get your foot in the door at a decent job.
we also had alot more electives in school now they tell you just about everything you need to take.

Absolutely....You are to be commended to have entered the work force full time and we all need a little 'brain melting' to function at our best when needed.

how is there extra homework you can do over the summer when you havnt even started the next grade yet?
It's not "homework"...sorta....lol...for instance in AP English...you pick your schedule at the end of this school year, you choose AP English...Th eassignment for that class if over the summer you read the book Animal farm, and do a write up and small project on it.
You make the choice to accept this "summer" assignment when you choose the class

so apparently alix melted her brain all summer untill the last ten minutes of vacation?
the world needs ditch diggers too you know
Everybody has some friends that went to COLLEGE that dont make as much as they would like. Thats not the point. Its the school system. They say do it and you either cry and moan and fail or do it and pass.

The summer is what 2.5 3 months long. If it takes anybody 3 months to read a book and do a project they should be held back. We are talking 1 book and a write up. 2 weeks max big freaking deal.
Then in Alix case its take 1 interview and a little write up. That can take a day maybe 3.
