So some snails need to be drip acclimated and others just temperature? Sorry I was just confused and didn't want to screw up any other orders of mine.

drip acclimation is the best way to do it....for anything so I have found out the hard way. Unless of course DHL looses your package apparently my new snails are coming to NY via Florida & Ohio....and they have no idea where it is now. I explained to the lady on the phone that they are now sending me a box of dead animals....does anyone think snails can survive 5+ days in transit?? I'm not having very good mail order luck! I got my lights today...well I got a box of broken glass inside a light fixture.....

Dry shipped snails have expelled all of the saltwater in them. As long as the your tank has water close to natural seawater salinity they will not be suseptible to osmotic shock.
If they are in a bag of water then they need to be acclimated to the salinity of your tank.
A common acclimation proceedure is to set them on a paper towel for a few hours but they still need to be kept warm.
Another method I use is to stick them in a clean spot on the glass just above the water level. The snails will crawl into the water at their own pace and self-acclimate.

I couldn't agree more!!!!! Whoa. I think I didn't acclimate mine long enough. (I'm very new at this hobby) After 2 days I picked them up and BAMN! The smell stayed on my fingertips for a while.
