I want to tell all of you this...

I feel a little quilty...A dear friend sent me a brand new Master reef and Saltwater API test kits because that's the brand I used when I went on disability. At the time I was so worried on how it would be financially with me off work. I have never been off except for having babies (30 years ago) and my appendix out (12 years ago). He just sent stuff out of the blue to me to help me out.
It turns out that the money is nearly the same, just on a different schedule (it isn't as regular as payday.) So I have been managing better than I anticipated. He sent me six boxes of saltmix as well. He said he switched brands and had them just sitting there, but he could have sold them. Instead he helped me....Here I am ordering a bunch of stuff since that time.
I say all this because lots of folks on this site have helped me because of my situation, at the time I did need the help, and was worried about what to do with my tank and such.... but later on when things settled, it didn't turn out as bad as I thought it would. I figure I owe some folks an explanation.
Time would fail me to go into detail of how the folks on this site (you know who you are) have helped me, not only is the advice great, but I've found a bunch of friends too.
I feel like a taker, it's much easier to be a giver....I have managed to pay it foreward a tiny bit, but I don't think I will live long enough to pay it foreward entirely. Everyone has been so helpful and supportive..... I want to thank you.

A nice thank is in order anyway, and an update on my situation concerning disability benifits was also in order. Everyone jumped in with encouragement...used equipment...stuff they just sent to be nice and thought I could use it. Eevn a very nice 25.00 gift certificate to use when I'm ready to order new critters.
My situation has improved, and I have so many to thank for helping me hang in there. You included.

That no taxes thing makes the disability go a lot further than you'd think. If a tree fell on your car would you feel like a "taker" letting insurance replace your car? You paid into disability and from the sound of things you went through quite a lot trying to stay in the workforce. Just try to get healthy again.

I didn't know you had to go on disability. Sorry for being clueless but glad it is working out for you now.

Flower, you rock. No need to feel guilty. Consider the original intention (to make you feel good) and leave it at that.

The mere fact that you are worried about this shows you have a good heart. I would lose NO sleep over your situation.
On the lighter side...If you feel real quilty you can send everything to me!

You guys are so sweet...You have no idea what a bright spot in my day this little site is.
This whole concern for what others may think of me comes from watching the judge shows...LOL..I'm hooked on judge shows and can't stop...... someone asks for a family member, friend or coworker for money. They give a big sob story and the next thing..they are spotted at Vegas or spending money they claimed they didn't have and couldn't repay. One girl didn't pay rent to her roommate for 7 months but purchased a wig for over a $1000.00 and whatever a guchi bag is, I know it's some fancy purse that must be lined with gold or something, I don't know anyone rich enough to own one.
I started thinking of all the nice things people have helped me with, and have done for me. I haven't borrowed any money but still...anyway I just purchased a Hectors Goby a few weeks ago, and then a nitrate filter...now new master test kits. Here I was just a few months ago whinning about going on disability, concerned on how to break my 90g tank down...everyone pitching in with help and ideas of how to keep it going.....with me now spending money I thought I would look like the guy who went to Vegas.
So you see guys, I wasn't feeling guilty about the nice things everyone has done or helped with, but fearing I might look like one of those users on the judge shows. Even at work, if we had a choice of which cleaning job...I took the harder to do one so I wouldn't look like a lazy person.
Which got me thinking about how wonderful everyone has been...so I Thanked you again. So now you know the crazy inner workings of my mind...Go ahead and laugh...I do.

If you like Judge shows, turn in to the Cassie Anthony trail. That courtroom is a circus, and the judge is awesome!

Heck, the only reason I got into the whole crazy T5 light testing thing was because I was going crazy watching daytime TV. It was something my fat crippled butt would allow me to do and was pretty interesting and even sorta related to my former occupation. When I was going through the pain management clinic the therapist actually encouraged me to get more involved in the hobby. She thought it was a good way to distract myself from the change in lifestyle. Hmmm, reeftank as a medical expense, would have been a nice write off LOL!

Exactly...it's like life as I know it just stopped..I went from very busy struggling through, to a total stand still, I like messing with the fish tank but there isn't much more I can do with it. I have been looking at some different ways to make a background...but that would require me to break down the tank to do it justus, so they may look cool but I can't execute any of my ideas for real. I made a disaster trying to work around my overflow when I was trying to create a shadow box. If the tank had been empty I think I could have done it justus.
I think fish tanks as therapy is a great idea....
