Ice Cap Ballast

I purchased one a week ago from champion lighting and hooked everything up perfectly in a new custom canopy w/ 4 48" true VHO bulbs and cannot get the lamps to light. They go out instantly. Actually...only two will light at a time. I have litterally checked everything 10 times at least...w/new bulbs and existing ones...to no avail. Champion is gonna send out another....hope it's bad.

You've probably already done this, buy pull the wires and re-insert on the bulbs that don't flash.
Could be a bad ballast.

So they fire but then go out?
I would check my bulbs (some LFS have a checker) and my wiring. When I had that problem, I had a bad bulb.
Good Luck! Champion is good about customer service!

As i mentioned before...i have and did change two sets of bulbs to no avail. Both sets did the same. wires were re-installed multiple times....same....again, i'm hoping the ballast is bad. Just seems bogus to have a brand new ballast go bad before installation. I know things happen and there are bad products shipped from the factory.....but what luck if this be the case.

Yes....bad ballast. Their customer service is outstanding. Sent a new ballast out. call tag for the old and hooked it up and it smokes.....awesome ballast. They have the _hit. Very impressed. The intensity of the lights now are awesome. Very true colors. I highly recommend them to all. No hasles no problems w/serv. Next day air is awesome. They even have loaners if need be.
