I got a regal tang on saturday, yesterday he was eating and swimming around and trying to eat the coralline algae off the live rock in my tank. Today i woke up went to look at my tank and i noticed my little tang has white dots all over him. It looks like ich but i cant really tell and i would of uploaded a picture but after taking the advice of my LFS and dropping my S.G to about 1.019 and hikeing my temp up to 78-82, hes allways hiding behind my pineapple coral, i've got 2 cleaner shrimp and he utilized their "trade" earlier today but now hes lethargic and wont come out for food!!!

My other fish are fine and are just like they normally are. My tangs in a reef otherwise i wouldve used copper and i couldn't get a lift today to take my the LFS to buy something that wont harm corals but will treat my tang (i had to use it before on my clown, it worked slowly but surely and didnt affect my corals)
So instead i phoned them up and asked them what to do.
What should I do????????????
I tried what they said but it only seemed to make my tang worse!!!!
PLEASE HELP!!!!!
My tang is showing rapid breathing, decreased appetite and lethargia.
Please help!!!

You can't treat ich in the display tank. Don't raise the temp, that is a waste of time. Also, if you lower salinity in your tank, you will loose your LR and corals, inverts.
You need to set up a QT and perform hyposalinity. See the details in the FAQ Thread.

I agree with Beth except get your temp up to at least 80F. The cold could have been stressing the fish.
