id growth on live rock, maybe a sponge??

this hitched hiked its way in on a rock, i just noticed it growing on the underside of a rock after rearranging things. i did some hunting first and im thinking it could be a sponge, but i wanted to see what everyone's thoughts were. its a grayish cloudy color i touched it and it gives a bit and is a little slimy. it seems to have holes in it i think thats the pores but not sure.

Thank you!! I was almost sure its a sponge but I wanted to double check I read about weird cyno or fungi and got worried it was something bad.
