So, I found some interested info on this coral on wetwebmedia and a few other places that just confirmed the original info. The corky finger coral is a gorgonian. Some are incrusting and some grow long or short fingers of purple or gray colors with light tan or sometimes green polyps. They require moderate flow to keep detrius from building up on the coral. They also favore high lighting but will tolerate lesser light. They are good for the novice aquarist and (for me anyway) grow rather quickly. The corky has been known to encroach on and take over some neighboring corals, so should be kept or "trained" onto it's own rock. Now they say is grows quickly at about 2-3 inches in a year. The one I have has grown 1 1/2 inches in just a few months. This may be right on track but I wanna give it it's full year before saying what kind of growth rate I'm getting with my flow and lights.
Well, just thought I would post what I found on this coral since it's apparently not very common in the trade but does seem to be encountered every now and then. Thanks for reading!
