ID please!

The coolest thing about a reef tank is the stuf that just starts growing. After almost a year, this thing started growing next to a plate coral (that also sprang out of nothing...). Any idea what this is?

No, the picture above is with the specimen fully opened. I notice at night that the polyps are very skinny and there appears to be body of some sort.

if they look different at night i would say that they were snake polyps like bang guy did. i read on another thread that snake polyps "open" at night when there is no light on. good luck heres a bump for you.

I thought I would repost this. The thing has grown and now looks more like an anemone or something. Anyone want to take a guess as to the type?

doesn't appear to be a hard base. looks like a stem attached to the rock, then a "soft plate" for lack of a better term, then the tenticles code from that.
