the first pic looks like a shrimp, but I don't know.
The second pic is definately a flatworm. Do a search for flatworms. I read a lot on them and really got conflicting views, The best I got was red flatworms are bad and white ones are ok. I never did find out the difference. If I remember, Six line wrasses and some nudibranch's will eliminate them. matt

How big do they get? these things are huge!
They are like Brine shrimp size!

I believe salty cheese is right, if so that's about the best pic of an amphidod I've ever seen!!
I try, but can't ever get a clear shot. Does it look like this from the side?? If so, it's definately an amphipod.

Does anythig eat them?
They just keep molting and getting bigger.
Also I read some flatworms are toxic?

That's about as big as a Gammarus Amphipod is going to get. Any fish that can catch it will eat it.
The White flatworms are not toxic.

sw i just had a problem with those stupid little white flatworms
i know there no threat but they do eat pods...and since im trying to cultivate my populations i sucked them out with a pipett straw from my refractometer kit. you would think it took for ever but it actully was quick lol i just turned the lights out waited for like an hour and turned them back on.and there they were out in full force devouring my pods so i took the straw and got rid of most of them im sure there still a couple around but ill get those too tonight.

:notsure: Hmm I'm trying to do the same with my pods.
Cept my Amihpods would wreck those flatworms if they tried eating them lol.
But I do see them eating whats on the glass

White flatworms eat copepods.

Amphipods are harmless and all marine tanks have them :) Like others have said, they help keep worm population under control.
They are also strictly nocturnal.
