This thing is weird, and as of yet, anything I place in my 100 gal. DT does not live, I was wondering if this creature was the reason, and I have not been able to ID it, it's nearly 3 1/2 ft. long, and starting to wondering..
Any help would be much appreciated.. Thanks in advance..

It is a large bristleworm of some type, most bristleworms are harmless and I doubt this one is causing the deaths in your tank but it's generally best to remove the species that get that large as they can be aggressive and eat anything they can catch. I have a large Euncid worm in my tank that has eaten corals, hermits, snails, and attempted to take a bite out of my 18" brittle star.

Thanks for prompt response, and may I ask a dumbed question, how do we remove it?, It tends to move swiftly, into any of our live rocks, so should I just remove all live rock and leave out of water for some time? Sorry NEWBIE here, and this has been a great adventure, and don't want to loose more $$$, have only lost about $200.00 thus far, and would like to keep it minimal..

if you cant get him without taking out the rock then you may need to do just that and pull some rock out to get him.

If you don't have much in your tank right now, taking the rock out may be the best way to get it, be sure and watch which rock it goes into because it may not come out of the rock and you will have to isolate that rock in anohter tank or tub until it comes out. Be sure and use gloves before handling the worm the bristles can penitrate the skin and be irritating or venomous.

Thanks again to all for the prompt responses and advice in this matter.. My only thing is that it comes out only when I place food, in tank, and when lights are off, and once I put lights on, there is really no way to know which, or exactly which rock it goes into, so I guess I'll be better off to just remove all surrounding rocks,, and the rock, should it be placed in Saltwater in another 5 gallon container orf sorts?
I don't wanna hurt it, nor do something that would be wrong,, Again thanks all for the advise in my matter..

Pretty cool
Good luck getting it out, people have been known to break them into several pieces while trying to remove them.
