ID this crap?

Sorry no pic but its a white shelled crab rather large palm sized, with purple spots and it spits water. and idea what it is

I don't know of any crabs that spit, but as for the white body and purple dots, could it be an anemone crab
Are they little dots or big dots?

Sounds like a Bashful Box Crab. i would see if the LFS would buy it from you.

no i promis it spits.. shoots a little stream of water out its mouth when harrassed. its bot big purple spots

It's an omnivore and will eat anything it can sneak up on.

well that bites cuss i bought it at the LFS, only $5 cuss i know the lady well. but its such a cool crab, real big too i could eat it if i was hungry enough.. :/

I could be wrong on the ID. Crabs are notoriously difficult to identify. I'm pretty sure it is not reef safe though.

yah hes a big one but i cant find any pics on him, but i swear if you saw it you would know, hes big large front claws white shell with large purple spots, i will continue to look for a pic i want you to see what im trying to explain

also I have a red emerald crab, but seem to have lost him also, do crabs eat crabs? i should worry shouldnt I, damn me for buying him cuss he was cool looking...

hey we have those crabs at the beach over here never new what they were called till now

they spit!! but i think im getting read of mine now that i know hes a cold killer, ate my wrasse not more than an hour after i put it in the tank.. at least im assumeing since i cant find it and i dont think my damsels ate it... grrr
