Unfortunately yes, I have been searching for a cuprit that keeps killing my small fish and shrimps. I got up this morning and heard a clicking coming from a rock, I removed the rock and placed it in fresh water, out came the shrimp. I have been losing only very small fish and shrimp for the past 2 months and can't find the reason. Tank chemistry is perfect, I figured it was a mantis.

It's definately a Pistol Shrimp. It has not been killing your fish though. You still have something else going on.

yep its a pistol, and thye wont kill your fish, too bad the little bugger is dead!
