found this guy about a week ago anyidea what it is he was eating my galaxia so i removed him and let him float in a bag in a seperate tank where he was aclimated and is now living in a new tank untill i find out what he is

there are a lot of types of worms out there, many we aquarists have yet to discover/encounter in our hobby. many of the polychaete worms ride a thin border between helpful and harmful without a better pic, im afraid we may all be stumped on this one King! Perhaps Guy can offer up a suggestion!

I really can't tell anything from the pictures. It vaguely resembles a Nemertean but that's just a wag. Perhaps a web search on 'Nemertea' could rule that out. They're not all that common.

i looked at some pictures of the Nemertea and that is what i know believe him to be are these guys bad what do you know about them and should i expect to find more in my tank also if they are some what uncommon how did he pop up in my tank is it one of those lr things

I'm not one to remove critters but in this case you probably should. They don't normally sexually reproduce in a tank but if it's accidently cut in two then you'll end up with more of them. They are predators that usually end up starving to death. But they can do some damage before they starve. They get up to several dozen feet long in the wild.

i removed him over 2 weeks ago he is long gone he died in the 10 g. who knows what tank that is up and running but has nothing in it except sand and lr
