Idiot Proof ph test?

I was wondering if anyone knew of an easy to read ph test?
I currently have 2 types, a multi function test strip with ph included.
I also have a RedSea test lab. Both of the two ph tests are hard to determine the color and it looks like I could easily be off .5 since the colors between 7.5, 8.0, 8.5 are so close; almost indistinguishable. Is there any test kit that has different distinguisable colors instead of purple, slightly darker purple, slightly slightly darker purple???

Yes, a digital meter is fool proof. No colors, just a digital readout that says 8.23. Another advantage is that you can get meters that provide a high/low reading for the day and that is much much more useful than a single reading.

I also agree that the ph meter is much more accurate and user friendly.
But for test kits I like the salifert and API much better than anything I have ever used.
The dip strips are worthless really. IMO
